The Embassy of Urban Transformation represents the city of the future and will host talks, workshops and an interactive exhibition about urban transformations in the Netherlands with human-centered examples that contribute to an inspiring, flexible, self-sufficient, mobile or caring city. Practical tools are offered and stimulating questions are asked that challenge locals and visitors as well as policy makers (and everything in between) to think about the city and her state of flux. The embassy paints a picture of the possibilities for the city in the future (which has already started yesterday) and makes it clear that we are in fact all ‘designers’. Urban transformation does not just ‘happen’ and constantly asks for new solutions by the changing society. The Embassy of Urban Transformation brings together stakeholders to encourage (new) initiatives on the spot.
Will you be there?
The ‘Embassy of Urban Transformation’ is produced, curated and designed this year by Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken and hosted by The Student Hotel. The content of the exhibition have been put together in collaboration with Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Atelier Rijksbouwmeester and Dutch Design Foundation.
The workshops and tours are hosted by Make Design Work, the training label of Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken with the mission to teach innovation departments in the Netherlands to learn how to achieve more successful projects.
